Update: Loni In London

Karen, Paul & Loni at the awards ceremony

Last Thursday saw our Loni & Paul (together with Loni’s trainer, Karen from CWT) attend the National Apprentice of the Year Awards. Having already won Regional Higher Apprentice of the Year, Loni just missed out on the national title, but a good night was had by all.

SFB Star Up For National Award

Loni celebrates with SFB's senior partner Paul Carvell

Forget Lord Sugar’s show-offs – we’re supporting our own star Apprentice!

Our very own ‘Sage superstar’ Loni Smith made it through to the regional finals of the National Apprenticeships Awards 2011 – and proved her mettle by walking away with the title of Regional Winner (Higher Apprentice of the Year).

More than 1600 entrants were nominated across 9 regions, with the top 5 entrants in each region and category being selected for the first stage of judging.
Each category winner has had to demonstrate:

• Commitment to their own personal development and progression through learning;
• Outstanding contribution to their workplace (particularly in areas or projects where they have exceeded expectations);
• Clear examples of achievement and attainment in learning and at work, as well as inspirational qualities.

Following Loni’s triumph at regional level on 13th May, she automatically progresses to the national stage, and will attend the ‘Oscars-style’ National Awards ceremony in London on 29th June. This event will see Loni competing with the cream of our country’s apprentices for the title of winner. We’ve also been informed that Prime Minister David Cameron may be attending the ceremony!

Everybody here at Stewart Fletcher & Barrett wishes her all the best, as she thoroughly deserves this accolade for all her hard work and dedication.
